Clean Coast Sardinia è un’associazione di volontariato nata nel 2018 in Sardegna, che ha come obiettivo quello di sensibilizzare sulle questioni ambientali riguardanti le nostre coste, le spiagge e il mare.

E’ iniziato tutto nel maggio del 2018 con la pulizia in solitaria di una spiaggia del sud Sardegna.
Durante una passeggiata, guanti e sacchetto alla mano, Anna Kowalska, insegnante di inglese trapiantata in Sardegna, ha iniziato a raccogliere di tutto, plastica, mozziconi di sigarette, fazzoletti di carta e ha messo tutto sui social per coinvolgere altre persone.
Il suo gesto ben presto è diventato virale e contagioso e le sue passeggiate si sono trasformate in incontri, eventi flash mob che hanno coinvolto amici, turisti e bagnanti, ripulendo così diversi tratti dei litorali sardi.

Nasce così l’idea di Clean Coast Sardinia, un progetto locale, ma con respiro internazionale.

Pulendo le spiagge e i litorali, sostenendo uno stile di vita a basso impatto ambientale con l’obiettivo di limitare soprattutto il consumo di plastica, promuovendo il turismo eco-sostenibile ed educando i più giovani all’azione di salvaguardia e rispetto del territorio, l’Associazione opera affinché la nostra bellissima Isola rimanga tale e non debba mai condividere il triste destino di molti luoghi nel mondo i cui mari e le coste sono ormai inondati dai rifiuti.

Il desiderio e l’augurio più grande è che, chi è nato qui, così come chi ha scelto quest’Isola come sua nuova casa o per la propria vacanza, possa continuare a godere di questo paradiso terreste chiamato Sardegna!

4 COMPORTAMENTI DA SEGUIRE PER INIZIARE

1 – NON ABBANDONARE RIFIUTI IN SPIAGGIA > il vento e le mareggiate li porteranno verso l’acqua
2 – EVITARE IL CONSUMO DI PRODOTTI IN PLASTICA MONOUSO > non si possono riciclare e si accumulano nelle discariche
3 – DIFFERENZIARE I RIFIUTI DOVE CI SONO LE ISOLE ECOLOGICHE > aiutiamo l’ambiente producendo meno rifiuti e riciclando di più
4 – RISPETTIAMO L’ECOSISTEMA MARINO > In tutta la Sardegna è vietato raccogliere pietre, sabbia e conchiglie ammiriamo le creature marine (come i cavallucci e le stelle marine) senza toglierli dal loro habitat.

About us

Clean Coast Sardinia is a voluntary association founded in 2018 in Sardinia, which aims to raise awareness on environmental issues concerning our coasts, beaches and the sea.

A project that started with lonely beach clean-ups on Poetto beach in the south of the island and is now being transformed, with the help of mind-liked friends, into an organisation with a structured administration and defined goals.

By setting a good example and involving others, by promoting a zero-waste lifestyle with the focus on limiting the plastic consumption, by promoting eco-sustainable tourism and educating the youngest generation in Sardinia, we hope this beautiful Italian island, in the times of plastic crisis, will not share the fate of many places around the globe which have already been flooded by plastic waste.

So that we, the people born here, the people who have chosen this place to be their new home, the tourists who love this holiday destination, and the generations yet to come, can enjoy this earthly paradise called Sardinia.

4 GOOD BEHAVIORS TO FOLLOW

1 – DO NOT ABANDON WASTE ON THE BEACH > the wind and storm surges will carry them towards the water
2 – AVOID THE CONSUMPTION OF PLASTIC PRODUCTS > they cannot be recycled and accumulate in landfills
3 – DIFFERENTIATE WASTE AT THE ECOLOGICAL SITES > we help the environment by producing less waste and recycling more
4 – WE RESPECT THE MARINE ECOSYSTEM> Throughout Sardinia it is forbidden to collect stones, sand and shells. Please admire sea creatures (such as seahorses and starfish) without removing them from their habitat.
